What an amazing time. Thank you to every single person who voted for me, donated to this campaign, prayed, volunteered, shared posts, sent encouragement and believed in me.

Someone asked a question at a forum a few weeks ago. They asked, "If your platform goes away tomorrow, where does that leave you?" My response to that was I will still advocate for our schools, I will still do the work of ensuring our community is fed. I will still hold our elected officials accountable to the promises they've made.

I love Guilford County, and I don't ever plan on sitting down on what I know is necessary work.

Congratulations to Greg Drumwright on your win! I look forward to seeing all you will do as a County Commissioner of the people.

I had an amazing team of people, who worked hard and I am forever grateful to each of you🧡 We are family!

For now, I’m returning to some unfinished work; my doctoral studies and the question God keeps placing before me about how we lead from the margins.

But one thing is certain: this is not the end of the story, it’s just the next chapter.

Toby’s campaign has connected with many young folks, both learning from them and helping them develop as activists. This is one of our high school interns who we are so proud of!

No early voting this Saturday, so spend your early afternoon on Valentines Day spreading the love for public school with us by coming to our canvassing shift from 11a-2p! We’ll be knocking doors with our friends from GCAE and Ebony Burnett in Board of Ed. district 4 to let folks know that if you love our public schools and public school workers, Ebony & I are the candidates for you!

Why do these races matter enough to bring your friend or partner to this canvass to celebrate Valentines Day with us? Because we’re in a moment in our country where public school funding is being slashed and there are many pressures pulling our County Commission in different directions. We need representatives in the Commission and on the Board of Education who understand the importance of our public education and will fight for the resources our school staff and students need to thrive. Ebony & I have been endorsed by the Guilford County Association of Educators because we understand what it will take, and we have experience standing side by side with the union to stand up for our public schools.
