Hello Southwest Family,
This is your proud principal, Dr. Richmond, calling with your news for the week of September 6.

At the Ranch
-There will be no school tomorrow in observance of Labor Day.

-Please be sure that you are connected to and checking Class Dojo on a regular basis. Class newsletters will be posted this year using Class Dojo. Those newsletters should begin to roll-out this week.

-As a reminder, we have started counting tardies. Students are expected to be in the building by 8:25am. If for some reason the car rider line gets too backed up, we will adjust that expectation in real-time. Please ensure students are in school and on time as much as possible.

-The Go Far Running Club will meet on Tuesday and Thursday of this week. Please ensure rides are at school to get kids on time. I want to thank our staff that go the extra mile to ensure that Southwest can offer clubs and activities to students.

Athletics
-Congratulations to boys’ soccer and girls’ volleyball for bringing home the first two wins of the school year for Southwest Middle. Congratulations to those that made the cheer team.

-This week, volleyball and soccer will travel to Kernodle on Tuesday.

Thank Mrs. Murty for capturing some amazing shots of boy's soccer against Allen! SWMS defeated Allen Middle School by 5 -1.

Meet our new flag crew! They submitted an application, went through an interview, and were trained today by SRO Leach. They will begin raising and lowering our flags tomorrow!

Hello Southwest Family,
This is your proud principal, Dr. Richmond, calling with your news for the week of August 30.

At the Ranch
-Our first week went smoothly. During the middle school years, students will face a whole host of challenges from emotions, to discovering who they are, to conflicts. My hope is that we will work together and guide our students through any challenge that may arise. I have nothing but hope in our kids and hope in Southwest Middle School.

-Please be reminded of courtesy during the car rider line. If you are trying to merge put on your turning signal. Do not pass everyone in this attempt. Be patient. As my grandfather would say, if every person let one person go then traffic would be fine.

-Cheerleading tryouts will start tomorrow August 31.
