For 15+ years, we've been the safe space in rural western NC where LGBTQ+ youth get to gather, laugh, learn, and just be kids. That doesn't happen without this community.

Hey folks!

There has been some recent dramatic controversy surrounding our Labor Day Cookout Community Event (of course).

Just to be clear, this event is being hosted and sponsored by this caucus. Yes, we are a democratic caucus.

For anyone who doesn't know, we live in a constitutional democratic republic. If you are unfamiliar with those words, please do some research.

That being said...... This event is a NON-PARTISAN, COMMUNITY event geared at celebrating all of our hard-working citizens in recognition of Labor Day.

There will be political candidates, as two of our officers are currently running for county positions; again, it's not about politics. ALL local candidates are welcome and encouraged to attend. If we cannot look past the (R)(D)(I) next to a name or group or event, what hope do we have folks?

We all have family and friends from different political ideologies but somehow manage to sit at the same tables, care about the same things, and laugh about shared memories. We have to ascend the nonsense as a collective.
