Women’s Resource Center (WRC) offers assistance to women. in Alexander, Burke, Caldwell and Catawba Counties. We are BIPOC , AAPI, LGBTQ+, and Immigrant allied. Women turn to us for many reasons:

Women’s Resource Center is seeking our next Director of Programs and Services- a dynamic, compassionate leader who is passionate about empowering women and strengthening families in our community.

This role blends direct client support through Community Resource Coaching, goal planning, and advocacy with program coordination, volunteer leadership, and outcomes tracking that demonstrates our impact to funders and the community.

We are looking for someone who leads with heart and integrity, thrives in collaboration, and believes deeply in the power of women supporting women. The right person will be organized, grounded, and excited to help build and strengthen programs that truly change lives.

At WRC, we show up for each other and for the women we serve. We work hard, we support one another, and we stay rooted in our mission every day.

We are honored to be selected as Catawba Women Who Care’s May 2026 Award Recipient.

Women's Resource Center of Hickory was our May 2026 Award Recipient! We are thrilled to share our collective contribution with such an outstanding non-profit in our area! This curated exhibition will highlight emerging and established artists across all mediums; inviting them to explore the 2026 theme: 𝓡𝓸𝓸𝓽𝓮𝓭 & 𝓡𝓲𝓼𝓲𝓷𝓰.
This year’s theme is all about celebrating the strength that grounds us and the courage that lifts us.

Today, Menstrual Hygiene Day, reminds us that periods don’t pause for poverty and dignity shouldn’t either.

Across the Four counties WRC serves, nearly 40,000 menstruators are living below the ALICE Threshold. That means tens of thousands of women and girls in our region struggle to afford the products they need every single month.
