Starting this past Sunday through this Saturday is referred to as National Police Week. It is a week to remember the fallen, support the living, and to never forget those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their communities, counties, states, and nation. The officers are wearing their mourning bands across their badges as a sign of respect for the fallen this week.
We have unfortunately had several local Officers, Deputies, and Troopers in our area make the ultimate sacrifice. Let us especially this week remember them, their friends, and families.
Thousands of officers travel to Washington DC during this week to visit the National Law Enforcement Memorial often referred to as the wall to pay their respects and visit the names etched forever into the wall. Its a humbling and sad experience to see a memorial site sadly grow every year often by over 100, sometimes hundreds of names yearly.
We appreciate the support we receive from many locally and during this week continue to ask for your support as residents, elected officials, and business owners to help ensure we can best do the job we are tasked with. Thank you and always help us remember the fallen.
