🚒👏 Community teamwork at its best! 👏🚓

Earlier today Roberts Park Fire Department and the Hickory Hills Police Department responded to a downed power line that sparked a shed fire in a resident’s backyard.

Before first responders arrived, a very brave 16-year-old resident quickly called 911 and safely began knocking down the fire with a garden hose.

Her courage, quick thinking, and calm actions under pressure are truly commendable. In recognition of her outstanding efforts, Ofc. Martinez presented her with an Outstanding Citizen Coin.

The teamwork displayed by the Roberts Park Fire Department, Hickory Hills Police Department, and community members is a great example of what makes our community strong.

This incident serves as an important reminder that quick action, calling 911 immediately, and remaining calm can make a significant difference during an emergency.

Great work by everyone involved, and congratulations to this remarkable young resident for her outstanding response! 👏🔥🚒
