The City of Hickory Hills will hold its annual Arbor Day tree and bush sale on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at City Hall Parking Lot located at 8652 W. 95th Street.

This community event, organized by the Community Affairs Committee, offers residents an opportunity to purchase trees and shrubs. Residents must show proof of residency to purchase discounted trees or bushes.

We also are holding a food drive to benefit Elsie’s Food Pantry. If you are able please consider making a donation of non-perishable food items to support those in need.

Boil Order Lifted. All Tap Water Throughout Town is Safe for Consumption

The City of Hickory Hills has received the sample results from yesterday’s precautionary boil order for residents East of 82nd Avenue. The samples came back as meeting or exceeding IEPA standards by a certified laboratory. This means the precautionary boil order is lifted and is no longer in effect. You may return to normal use of your water service and all residents no longer have to boil any water to be consumed.

Sunday, April 5, 2026 Water Boil Order Effective Immediately For Area of Hickory Hills East of 82nd Avenue

Due to a pressure valve failure, a localized area of Hickory Hills residents experienced a loss of water pressure. We are issuing a precautionary boil order for Hickory Hills residents located East of 82nd Avenue. For precautionary measures only, boil all water for consumption for a minimum of 5 minutes. The water is safe to wash hands, shower, etc. Only water for consumption should be boiled. We are taking samples and submitting them to an IEPA laboratory. Results should be back in 24 hours. This boil order is effective immediately and you will be notified when it is lifted. If you have any questions, please call Public Works at 708-598-7855.

Still Time to Sign Up for the 2025 Howl Through The Hills 5K Run/Walk to Benefit Hickory-Palos Sertoma and Wellness House

The weather for Saturday looks great and there is still time to sign up for the 10th Annual Howl Through the Hills 5K walk/run. The event will take place at 9AM on Saturday, October 25, 2025. There is still time to sign up online (see below) and you also can sign up the morning of the event. We recommend that you arrive no later than 8 a.m. if you intend to sign up the morning of the race. The race will start and finish at Hickory Hills City Hall.

Please join us Saturday evening for a free concert featuring the Ranger Band at the entertainment tent adjacent to Huntington Bank. Concert runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The annual Hickory Hills Street Fair begins at 10 a.m. on Sunday. The event will feature a fabulous car show, bingo, food trucks, bounce houses, crafters and karaoke. Please remember that on Sunday Roberts Road will be closed from 95th Street to 91st Street for this event.

The The Hills Chamber Farmers Market Is Back!

Friday, June 6, 2025 is the Chamber’s first Farmers Market of the year in the City Hall Parking Lot from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. The Farmers Market will run every Friday throughout the summer and will feature many vendors, local artisans and special events on certain weeks.

Hickory Hills Police Department Cop on Roof Special Olympics Fundraiser Friday, May 16

The Special Olympics Illinois Cop on a Rooftop event is this Friday! Please be sure to stop by and visit while picking up your morning Dunkin' coffee and more. Members of the Hickory Hills Police Department will be at the Dunkin located at 7847 W. 95th St. Hickory Hills, IL from 5am to noon.

Our officers also will be selling Special Olympics merchandise on site and any donation gets you a free donut. All proceeds go to Special Olympics Illinois.

The The Hills Chamber is hosting a Senior Resource Fair on Saturday, April 12, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Hickory Hills Community Center, located at 7800 W. 89th Place, Hickory Hills. Admission is free.

Hills Chamber of Commerce business members and representatives from Cook County, Nicor, ComEd, BCBS of Illinois, United Healthcare, Palos Township, Medicare, and others will be available to answer questions and provide information. For individuals approaching retirement who have inquiries about Medicare and its services, this is an opportunity to obtain information. It’s never too early to start planning.

Representatives from the Illinois Tollway will be available to assist with obtaining the new iPass Sticker. Additionally, an iCash representative will be present to help locate any unclaimed money. The Hills Chamber will also conduct a raffle for two $50 Fairplay gift cards.
