Good morning Fulton County. I wanted to give some transparency to the AG Election audit questions that I have been getting. First, this has been in effect since 1988. Second, why haven’t you heard about it? Well, in part because it is a random draw at the state level and Fulton County has not been randomly selected in almost 20 years. Third, what is it? This is a process where the County Clerk supplies all reports to the AG for review of the entire election process from start to finish in Fulton County. Now, this consists of 40-50 different reports, all of which are done with bi-partisan participation. What does that mean, well it means that there is always 2 people who are of different parties, doing the work together, verifying the information and completing any reports. Fourth, why are you making a post today when the drawing was a week ago. Let me start by saying, I have never been through this audit, so I prefer to have all my ducks in a row, so to speak before going to the public. I like to be able to clearly explain everything so that you all continue to have confidence in this office and the election process in the state of Kentucky as a whole. Also, I am a busy girl, not just dealing with elections, but registering and titling vehicles, doing daily reports and balancing Daily Cash flow. As well as answering the phone calls and emails that come. So it has taken me a little time to focus solely on this audit. Now that I have had time to focus on this audit, I can say I am fully prepared to represent Fulton County and have no doubts that our audit will be fine. I hope the voters of Fulton County feel the same way. As always, thank you for your continued support and I am honored to serve Fulton County.
