Thank you to everyone in our community who went the extra mile to ensure our technical students will have a mentor and coach as Technical Director for the next two years. Our next show is Fall Musical 2026, Nov 19-21!
A Note from Hibbing Drama Boosters President, Angie Weaver
Today is the last day of school, and I have some BIG news to share with you!
Just a few weeks ago, we learned that the Technical Director position for our theatre program would no longer be funded by the school. We turned to our community for help.
And our community showed up.
Because of your generosity, we have officially raised enough funds to support the Technical Director position for at least the next two years.
Thank you.
This role is essential to every production. It is the person behind the lights, sound, sets, and countless technical details that bring a show to life. Without this position, our community and students simply would not have access to the quality theatre experiences we have come to expect and deserve.
We are especially grateful to Jan Baldwin, Lynn Heath, and an anonymous donor for their leadership support of this effort. We also want to thank every individual, business, family, alumni, and community member who made a contribution. Together, your generosity ensured this position will remain funded for the next two years and demonstrated just how much this community values student theatre and the arts.
We also want to thank everyone who supported the program this spring by attending Romeo and Juliet, purchasing flowers or stickers, donating during Minute to Give It, volunteering, sharing our posts, or cheering on our students from the audience. Every act of support helped strengthen this program and contributed to what we were able to accomplish together.
The school has let us know they do not anticipate funding this position for at least the next two years. Because of your support, our students can move forward knowing these opportunities will continue.
If you made a donation through Venmo and would like a tax-deductible receipt, please email us at [email protected].
Several community members have asked whether they can still donate now that this goal has been met. The answer is yes.
While the Technical Director position is now funded, the Booster Club will continue working to support theatre opportunities for students and program needs throughout the year. Donations can still be made through Venmo , or by stopping into Security State Bank and letting them know you’d like to donate to the Hibbing Drama Boosters.
Today is a moment to celebrate.
Funding the Technical Director position was an important step, but the Booster Club’s mission is to support and strengthen theatre opportunities for students throughout the year. Because of your generosity, we can now turn our attention toward the future and continue building a strong foundation for this program.

That is something worth celebrating.
