We want to hear from you! 📢 Every five years, Hiawassee updates its Comprehensive Plan, along with Towns County and Young Harris.

We have two public hearings scheduled that will be specific to Hiawassee:
👉 June 18 - Downtown Development focus
👉 August 24 - Critical Infrastructure focus

A public survey is live now for you to provide input on the future of Towns County. A Hiawassee-specific survey will also be posted in June.

✨ Enchanted Music on the Square continues Saturday! ✨

🎶 Saturday, May 30 - The Collins Family
🎸 Free concert (donations appreciated)
🎤 6:30 to 8:00 PM
📍 19 S Main Street - Hiawassee Town Square

The Collins Family is a very musical family, playing at local venues and churches and competing in bluegrass competitions. Easton is the lead singer and can play any stringed instrument he picks up. Carson sings lead and harmony, plays the mandolin, guitar and a little on piano. Tennon sings and plays guitar and piano. Finley sings and plays the fiddle. The mom, Shawna sings harmony. The dad, Ben can play any stringed instrument but mostly guitar, mandolin and bass.

🎉 Great family Fun! Bring A Blanket or Chair.
🐶 Well behaved pets are welcome (with cleanup)!
🌭 Come early (6pm) to enjoy the best grilled hot dogs and more from our VFW Auxiliary Food truck.

Two Weeks Notice is a six piece band of seasoned musicians based in the North Georgia/Hayesville, NC area. They perform classic rock and country songs primarily from the 70’s & 80’s featuring three part harmonies. Their variety of covers range from the Doobie Brothers to Brooks & Dunn and from The Beatles to Linda Ronstadt to Bonnie Raitt. They offer something for everyone, and the concert will bring back fond memories of familiar tunes.

📢 Georgia EPD declared a statewide Drought Response Level 1 on April 27. Stream flows and groundwater levels are far below normal throughout the state. Towns County is in an extreme drought, the second to highest drought designation.

Even though you can turn your tap on and have water whenever you need it, we don’t have an endless supply of water.

Now is the time to implement water conservation measures around your homes and businesses to reduce demand on our water supply.
