Hiawassee Downtown Development Authority The DDA works to keep downtown vibrant and attractive while helping its existing and new businesses.

The Downtown Development Authority of Hiawassee, GA is composed of seven (7) members appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council and recognized by the State of Georgia as a public corporation with a specified set of powers and a specific purpose and mission to:

• Revitalize and redevelop the commercial corridor of the city, particularly the Hiawassee Enterprise Zone Area.

• Develop a

nd promote for the public good and general welfare, trade, commerce, industry, and employment opportunities.

• Finance projects within the city limits that will develop and promote the public good and general welfare.

• Issue bonds to finance projects.

Struck by Lightning 2 is a high-energy acoustic duo based in North Georgia, featuring Bill Wilson (lead vocals, guitar, custom drum tracks) and Steve Fineo (keyboards, vocals). Known for their tight harmonies and full-band sound, they perform a wide-ranging setlist covering classic country, rock, pop, and more.

The Whiskey Mountain Band is a group of experienced pro musicians who began playing together and refining their signature sound in a cabin on the slopes of Whiskey Mountain, overlooking Lake Chatuge and Hiawassee. The band performs regularly all over north Georgia and western North Carolina, playing high energy classic rock and dance tunes with a touch of blues and country.
