City of Hewitt Fire Department

Protecting lives and property for the citizens of Hewitt, Texas. The Hewitt Fire Department consists of 15 career firefighters and a Fire Chief.

The department operates out of one fire station 24 hours a day, every day of the week. On average, the department responds to over 800 calls per year that consist of structural fires, vehicle fires, grass / brush fires, motor vehicle collisions, vehicle extrication, hazardous materials incidents, and first response to medical emergencies.

Please keep all those responding to the wildfires in your thoughts and prayers. We have a crew headed out to help with a TIFMAS deployment to the Palo Pinto County area. This one is already over 50,000 acres.

Good Morning don't forget that we will be testing our outdoor warning sirens this morning at 10 along with Waco-McLennan County OEM. This is our normal test done on the first friday of each month.

Today, the Hewitt Fire Department deployed a crew as part of TIFMAS Strike Team 174 to assist with emergency operations in the San Antonio area impacted by severe storms and devastating flash flooding.

With Governor Greg Abbott issuing a disaster declaration for numerous counties and the Texas Division of Emergency Management continuing statewide response efforts, our firefighters are joining responders from across Texas to provide critical assistance to communities in need.
Whether it's flood response, rescue operations, or supporting local emergency services, our crew stands ready to help wherever they are needed.
Please join us in wishing our firefighters a safe deployment and keep all of the first responders and the families affected by these storms in your thoughts.

We are proud to serve not only the City of Hewitt, but our fellow Texans whenever the call for help comes.

Heads up Hewitt. Due to the holiday weekend the county and Hewitt are going to test the outdoor warning sirens one day early. Please share to help spread the word.

At this last Council meeting we had the privilege of pinning and welcoming 6 new fire fighters and promoting 5 Engineers and 1 Lieutenant. This is just the first round of filling some vacancies and the additional new hires and promotions to staff your new Fire Station #2. Please help us congratulate them on all their hard work.
