If you believe in local control, lower property taxes, fair and consistent funding for our schools, and protecting the most vulnerable in our society including our children, our elderly, and our veterans of all ages, you really need to vote for Dan Skogen. These are the issues central to his heart.

This election is about you. Vote for a better tomorrow.

Vote for fiscal responsibility. Vote for Dan Skogen.

The Republican legislature left the state with a $4.5 billion deficit (while making the wild claim that they left a $1.2b "surplus"). They borrowed 2 billion dollars from your schools. They added $400 million to your property taxes. The Republicans also used 250 legislature days to get less done since 1869. That's not a good use of your tax dollars. We can do better than that.

Dan Skogen is the fiscally responsible candidate. He voted for a balanced approach that included an across the board 7% cut in ALL departments. Voters in Minnesota Senate District 8 have a clear choice between the fiscal responsibility of Dan Skogen and the borrow-and-spend approach by the other side.

Skogen is the guy who gets things done

We didn’t even live in Dan’s district, but he knew honoring survivors with a Gold Star license plate was the right thing to do. In this election, we have a clear choice: the guy who tries or the guy who gets things done. I know Dan Skogen will be a state senator who doesn’t just listen to us, but pu...

Wadena mayor encourages vote for Dan Skogen in District 8

On June 17, 2010, Wadena was struck by an EF4 tornado that devastated a large portion of the City of Wadena. It destroyed over 100 homes, 20 businesses, our high school, community center, and many public buildings and infrastructure.

Why did real estate taxes go up?

I heard Senator Ingebrigtsen’s radio ad one morning. He stated, “We went from a $6 billion deficit to a $1 billion surplus, without raising taxes.” I nearly fell out of my chair.

Why on Earth would the Republicans vote to cut funding for education when Minnesota's tradition of strong and well funded schools is part of what makes the state so special?

Student loan debt now exceeds credit card debt in America, and this is turning into an epidemic. An educated work force with a disposable income is critical for the future of Minnesota.

Vote for quality education. Vote for Dan Skogen.

Time to fire incumbents in District 8B

We need new leadership in the Minnesota Legislature. The last session was dominated by failed partisan politics, gridlock, divisive social issues, raising our property taxes, and borrowing money from schools to pretend the deficit was “fixed.”

By ending the Homestead Market Value Credit (Homestead Tax Credit), Republicans caused your property taxes to up by about 8% in Greater Minnesota. This is the biggest property tax hike in state history. One man in Douglas County had his property taxes go up 33%!

Dan Skogen will fight to lower your property taxes by reinstating the Homestead Tax Credit. This will benefit agriculture, small businesses, and home owners in rural Minnesota.

Vote for lower property taxes in District 8. Vote for Dan Skogen on November 6th.
