The Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology has advanced my bipartisan GUARD Act. This legislation requires federal scrutiny of robots made by China and other foreign adversaries and prohibits imports determined to pose a threat to our national security.

The Committee on Energy and Commerce is the oldest standing legislative committee in the U.S. House of Representatives and is vested with the broadest jurisdiction of any congressional authorizing committee.

The Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade has advanced my bipartisan Chip EQUIP Act. This legislation ensures federal semiconductor investments do not support manufacturing equipment from foreign adversaries, helping secure our supply chains and strengthen American technological leadership.

The Committee on Energy and Commerce is the oldest standing legislative committee in the U.S. House of Representatives and is vested with the broadest jurisdiction of any congressional authorizing committee.

California drivers currently pay $1.26 more per gallon for gasoline than drivers in neighboring Arizona. Sacramento’s high taxes and burdensome regulations continue to drive up costs for families across our state. Californians deserve real relief at the pump!

I’m proud that the Energy and Commerce Committee advanced my LOCOMOTIVES Act to protect projects like the Barstow International Gateway from unworkable state mandates. This legislation supports local jobs and keeps our national freight network moving under one consistent federal standard.

"California bureaucrats should not be able to supersede federal law and prevent vital parts of Michigan's economy from accessing global markets. Our LOCOMOTIVES Act is a common sense proposal to allow industries that rely on railway transportation like Michigan agriculture and our auto industry to c...

I am glad to see NSF establish a new operations center for the National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource. The NAIRR pilot has already supported more than 800 projects, and this new center will expand access to the computing power, data, and tools researchers need to drive scientific discovery and strengthen American leadership in AI.

A constituent recently contacted my office after his USCIS renewal applications remained pending and his work authorization expired, leaving him unable to work. My office initiated a congressional inquiry, provided updates, and helped him navigate the process until his applications were approved and he could return to work. If you need help with a federal agency, stop by one of our Mobile Office Hours or contact our district office in Hesperia. We’re here to serve you!

Congratulations to Yucaipa native Lt. Gen. Douglas Schiess on his nomination to serve as the next Chief of Space Operations for the United States Space Force! Once confirmed, he will become the Space Force’s highest-ranking officer. I’m excited to see someone with roots in our district called to serve our nation at the highest levels of military leadership.

If confirmed by the Senate, Schiess will become the service’s highest-ranking officer and the third Chief of Space Operations since the Space Force was established in December 2019.
