We have been monitoring river conditions throughout the night. Water levels are currently trending downward; however, runoff from the past several days of rain is still moving through the system.

If you live downstream of the Hesperia Dam, please remain alert and have an evacuation plan in place should conditions change.

Additionally, a dense fog has settled over the area this morning. Use caution during your commute, reduce your speed, and allow extra stopping distance.

Remember: Turn around, don’t drown.

Continue to monitor official channels for updates. Stay safe.

We are continuing to monitor conditions at the Hesperia Dam. Crews are also monitoring water levels at both upstream and downstream bridges.

At this time, the water level at the dam is remaining stable.
The following road closures are currently in effect:
Maple Island Bridge
Michigan Avenue Bridge
Madison Street Bridge east of Green Avenue

Please avoid these areas and continue to monitor official channels for updates. Stay safe.

Residents are able to fill their own sandbags at this time.

Sandbags and sand have been staged on the north side of the dam near the baseball fields. Please bring your own shovel if possible and take only what you need so supplies remain available for others in the community.

We appreciate everyone working together to help protect homes and property. Continue to monitor official channels for updates.

We are continuing to monitor conditions at the Hesperia Dam. Water flows have increased again this morning, and our crews are currently conducting an initial damage assessment of homes immediately upstream and downstream of the dam.

At this time, we remain in the planning phase for residents along the White River. There has been no evacuation order issued.
Residents are encouraged to stay alert and continue monitoring official channels for the most up-to-date information.

We want to give a huge thank you to the Hesperia JV and Varsity baseball teams who came out today to help us fill sandbags for the dam. Your hard work and dedication are so appreciated! We also want to thank all the other incredible volunteers who came out to support us. Your efforts make a huge difference in keeping our community safe! Please stay tuned to official updates and stay safe, everyone! Hesperia Community Schools

If you live near the White River West of the Hesperia Dam within the highlighted area, be prepared to evacuate.

At this time, we are in the planning stage only—no evacuation order has been issued. Please stay alert and continue monitoring official sources for the most up-to-date information.

The Maple Island Bridge upstream of the dam is currently closed, and the Michigan Avenue Bridge immediately downstream is also closed, along with the dam itself. Please avoid these areas and plan alternate routes if necessary.

Have multiple ways to receive warnings tonight. Thunderstorms will likely develop across Wisconsin this afternoon and evening, moving over Lake Michigan late this evening especially after 8pm. These thunderstorms may feature damaging wind gust swaths of 75 mph or potentially greater as a fairly intense line could develop as it reaches the lakeshore. A few tornadoes are also possible both within the line itself and possibly in any isolated supercells that develop ahead of it. Some power outages will likely develop near and south of I-96 tonight. Heavy rainfall over a short amount of time may create urban and poor drainage flooding overnight which could last into Wednesday morning. Torrential downpours may lead to rapid street flooding overnight along with the risk for overflowing ditches and low lying areas already ponded by recent rainfall.
