Marywood University proudly celebrated Pennsylvania State Trooper David Kuzmick, the first student to complete his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice through the Marywood–Pennsylvania State Police Academy Partnership.

“This is a great opportunity for the University and the department, and I hope that students and troopers alike can take advantage of this program,” Kuzmick said.

Through the partnership, eligible Criminal Justice students can complete 90 undergraduate credits at Marywood before applying to the Pennsylvania State Police Academy. Upon successfully completing the Academy, students receive 30 additional undergraduate credits toward their Marywood degree.

Congratulations, Trooper Kuzmick, on this incredible achievement! 💚💛

On July 1, 2026, Trooper First Class Michael E. Pahira, Jr. made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the citizens of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Yesterday, Trooper First Class Pahira was laid to rest following services in Ashland, PA. May he rest in peace and watch over us all. He will not be forgotten.
