❤️🇺🇸 For the past 25 years, a very special family has remembered the members of the Hershey Volunteer Fire Department each September 11th by sending us this beautiful flower arrangement.

Words cannot fully express our sincere gratitude for this incredibly thoughtful gesture. Year after year, you have taken the time to think of us, remember September 11th, and honor the firefighters and emergency responders who answered the call that day.

Your kindness has become a cherished tradition at our firehouse, and we are truly grateful that you continue to remember us.

🕯️ At 10:28 AM on September 11, 2001, the North Tower of the World Trade Center collapsed. It was a moment of unimaginable terror and heartbreak.

Today, we remember every person who was still inside. We remember those who never made it home. We remember the families who lost someone they loved. And we honor the courage of those who continued to run toward danger when every instinct told them to run away.

Remember their names.
Remember their sacrifice.
Remember their courage.

🕯️ At 10:03 AM — We remember United Airlines Flight 93 crashing into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Flight 93 was more than an aircraft. It became a symbol of extraordinary courage and selflessness. The courageous passengers and crew aboard Flight 93 learned what was happening elsewhere that morning. Knowing their aircraft was being used as a weapon, they decided to fight back.

They rose together and fought for control of the aircraft, ultimately preventing the terrorists from reaching their intended target. Their actions came at the greatest possible cost—their own lives—but their courage saved countless others.

Today, we remember the 40 passengers and crew members of Flight 93 who stood together in the face of evil. They were ordinary people who, in an extraordinary moment, chose to do something incredibly brave.

In a matter of seconds, a towering symbol of American strength was brought to the ground, taking with it countless innocent lives and many of the brave first responders who had entered the building to save others.

For those watching, the collapse was almost impossible to comprehend. For the firefighters, police officers, EMS providers, and civilians caught within the tower, it was a moment of unimaginable terror and heartbreak.

Today, we remember every person who was still inside. We remember those who never made it home. We remember the families who lost someone they loved. And we honor the courage of those who continued to run toward danger when every instinct told them to run away.

Today, we ask for your solemn solidarity as we pause to remember September 11, 2001—a day that forever changed our nation. We remember the lives that were cut short, the families who were devastated, and the communities that were forever changed by an act of unimaginable evil.

We remember the brave men and women who ran toward danger while others were running away. Firefighters, police officers, EMS providers, military personnel, and countless civilians answered the call to help their fellow Americans, demonstrating extraordinary courage, compassion, and selflessness.

We remember the 343 firefighters, 8 EMS Providers, and 23 New York City police officers who made the ultimate sacrifice at the World Trade Center, along with the many others who gave their lives that day and in the years that followed.

Twenty-five years later, their sacrifice remains a part of who we are.

Today, the members of the Hershey Fire Department stand with our brothers and sisters across the fire and emergency services community as we remember all who were lost and honor those who served.

We will never forget. 🇺🇲
