On behalf of the entire Penn State Health Life Lion team, we extend our deepest condolences to the Life Flight - Geisinger team and to the family, friends, and loved ones of Jerry Splitt.

Jerry’s impact on the air medical community, both as a flight nurse and as a director, reached far beyond the boundaries of any single program. His service, leadership, and commitment to critical care transport helped shape the profession and influenced countless clinicians, patients, families, and colleagues throughout his career.

Those of us who serve in this field understand the unique bond shared among air medical teams. While our programs may wear different uniforms, we are connected by the same mission. Jerry’s life and career reflected that mission with professionalism, dedication, and purpose.

Please know that the Life Lion team stands with Geisinger Life Flight during this difficult time. We honor Jerry’s legacy, his contributions to our profession, and the many lives touched through his work and leadership.

🍋🚑 When Life Lion is out in the community, sometimes the best stop is a lemonade stand!

This weekend Penn State Health Life Lion EMS crews were out and about in Lebanon County when they had the chance to stop by a local lemonade stand for some fresh lemonade and a few smiles along the way.

Moments like this remind us that is about more than emergency response. It is about connection, community, and being present for the families and neighborhoods we are proud to serve.

Thank you to these young entrepreneurs for the excellent lemonade and for brightening our crew’s day!

🏆 Award-Winning Appearance for Life Lion East Division!

Congratulations to the Penn State Health Life Lion East Division for being recognized as the “Best Appearing EMS Unit” at the Lancaster County Firefighters Parade held in Columbia this Saturday.

Our crew was proud to represent Life Lion and Penn State Health alongside many impressive emergency vehicles, including a classic Cadillac ambulance and a military ambulance. We are honored that this Lancaster County ambulance was selected for recognition!

This award reflects the pride, professionalism, and attention to detail our teams bring not only to special events, but to every patient, every transport, and every community we serve.
