September 11, 2001. We Remember. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Today, we pause to remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the families, friends, and communities forever changed by that day.

We also honor the extraordinary courage of the first responders who ran toward danger while others were running away. Firefighters, police officers, EMTs, dispatchers, and countless others answered the call without knowing what they would face. Many never made it home.
Their courage, sacrifice, and service will never be forgotten.

Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives lost, honor the heroes who gave everything, and remain grateful for those who continue to serve and protect their communities every day.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Education and safety are incredibly important to HPD. As more members of our community choose e-bikes for transportation and recreation, weโ€™re committed to keeping everyone informed, prepared, and riding safely.

We appreciate everyone who took the time to learn, ask questions, and share in our commitment to safer streets and a safer community. We look forward to continuing these conversations and providing the information our community needs to ride confidently and responsibly.

๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’™ Happy Police K9 Day to our very own EOD K9 Pilot!

Pilot is an Explosive Ordnance Detection (EOD) K9, specially trained to detect the odors of explosives and explosive-related materials, including ammunition. He and his handler, PFC Pierce, help search buildings, vehicles, packages, event venues, crime scenes, and more, helping keep our officers and community safe.

Join us on September 9 at 6 p.m. at the Herndon Community Center for a FREE E-Bike Community Information Session. Weโ€™ll cover e-bike safety, classifications, laws, trail etiquette and more, plus give you an opportunity to ask questions.
