🇺🇸 WE REMEMBER. WE HONOR. WE WILL NEVER FORGET. 🇺🇸

On September 11, 2001, our nation was changed forever.

Today, the members of HPD pause to honor the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost and the countless families forever impacted by that tragic day.

We especially remember the police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and other first responders who answered the call without hesitation. They ran toward the danger, knowing the risks, because that is what those who serve do.

Their courage and sacrifice remind us of the responsibility we carry every day: to protect, to serve, and to stand together when our community needs us most.

We honor their memory by never forgetting their sacrifice.

Mount Pleasant Road will be closed from Commerce Street to East Valley until further notice. Entergy is currently on the scene replacing utility poles and equipment.

Businesses within the immediate affected area are closed for the night. Kroger and other businesses in the surrounding area remain accessible through alternate entrances.

Please use caution in the area and plan for an alternate route.

The City of Hernando is currently working a missing persons report for Mr. Keith Michael Gordon. Mr Gordon was last seen at the Goodwill McIngvale Road location at approximately 0930 today’s date. Mr. Gordon was last seen wearing blue jeans, a dark blue shirt. Mr. Gordon has a disability and is deaf, also has bad vision. If any contact is made with Mr. Gordon please notify Hernando Police Department at 662-429-9096.
