DeSoto County Soil & Water Conservation District "Helping People, Help the Land" The Mississippi Legislature authorized the formation of Conservation Districts on April 4, 1938, through House bill 454.

The DeSoto County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) is a governmental subdivision of the State of Mississippi located in the First Congressional District. Citizens of DeSoto County organized the DeSoto County SWCD in 1946.
