Highlights from this week’s meeting:
💧 Recognized California Water Service
Council recognized California Water Service for 100 years of service.
👏 Recognized Ennis Jackson
Council recognized Police Department Administrative Services Coordinator Ennis Jackson upon his retirement after 23 years of service.
🕊️ Recognized Contributions to the 9/11 Memorial
Council recognized community members who contributed to the creation and restoration of the Hermosa Beach 9/11 Memorial.
🏡 Approved Urban Lot Split
Council adopted Resolution No. 26-7576, approving Final Parcel Map No. 84534 for an urban lot split at 2040 Hillcrest Drive.
🏠 Adopted Short-Term Rental Ordinance
Council adopted Ordinance No. 26-1502, establishing a short-term rental program and related Municipal Code updates.
📝 Updated Purchasing Procedures
Council adopted Ordinance No. 26-1503, increasing the City Manager’s purchasing authority to $50,000, updating procurement thresholds and addressing emergency purchasing procedures.
🏛️ Continued Administrative Citation Ordinance
Council continued consideration of an ordinance updating the City’s administrative citation procedures to the October 13 City Council meeting.
🌱 Approved Environmental Consulting Agreements
Council awarded agreements for on-call environmental consulting services to Aspen Environmental Group, Michael Baker International, and Rincon Consultants.
🏠 Reviewed Clark Building Usage
Council received and filed the one-year review of Clark Building usage.
🎾 Increased Tennis Fees
Council increased the annual tennis membership fee to $25 and hourly reservation fees to $12 during the day and $14 during the evening.
🌳 Updated Park Reservation Fees
Council updated resident and non-resident park reservation fees and added Seaview Park and Fort Lots of Fun Park to the reservation program.
📌 Other Updates
• Approved the August 25 City Council meeting minutes
• Received and filed the Check Registers
• Amended an agreement for on-call staff augmentation services
• Directed staff to solicit applications for the Los Angeles County West Vector and Vector-Borne Disease Control Board
