The Hickory County Youth Poultry & Rabbit show was this evening. We had 20 youth attend this year.

Thanks to the amazing judges (Austin Noah, poultry; and Jenna Kuttenkuler, rabbits); Jocelyn Lewton Wheeler (and family) for help with the event and clean up; and Chris and Matthew for helping with all the things in between!

4-H State Congress was last week on the MU campus. This is a 2 night trip that allows the youth the opportunity to experience dorm life, network, vote for the Board of Directors and Regional Representatives. The youth take part in workshops, service learning projects, campus tours, and wrap it all up with sand volleyball and a dance.

Summer school students learned about germs today. We used germ simulation lotion and a blacklight to see how easily germs are spread. Looking for a fun, hands-on experience for youth this summer? Come learn the skills of the homestead!

During this 5-day mini camp, youth will explore practical skills through hands-on activities including:
๐ŸŒฑ Gardening & planting seeds
๐Ÿ“ Learning about poultry and eggs
๐Ÿž Baking homemade bread & simple food preservation
๐Ÿงต Sewing basic projects
๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ Making soap and candles

Youth will learn new skills, create projects, and take home items they make throughout the week!
