🌿🎣 A Day of Adventure at Goddard State Park! 🎣🌿
The MCAR Day Program recently heard about Goddard State Park and its breathtaking views—and we knew we had to go check it out! 🌅
Our adventurous staff member, John Godlewski, went above and beyond to plan a wonderful all-day outing for his individuals. He packed up camp chairs, grabbed delicious lunches for everyone, gathered all the fishing equipment, and headed out for a day full of fun and adventure!
Once they arrived at the park, the group explored around the lake in search of the perfect fishing spot. 🎣 Once they found it, they settled in for the day, pulled out their chairs, and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and wildlife surrounding them. Before long, they were getting bites—and even managed to reel in a large fish! 🐟🙌
After getting in plenty of fishing time, everyone enjoyed a relaxing picnic with their lunches before taking a short stroll along the wilderness trails. 🌲🥪
It was the perfect day filled with great company, beautiful weather, exciting new adventures, and plenty of memories to take home! ❤️
A huge thank you to John for putting together such a thoughtful and memorable outing. We can’t wait to see where our next adventure takes us! 🌿☀️🎣

🎉💙 Celebrating 40 Incredible Years with The Arc of Mercer County! 💙🎉
Today, we celebrate an extraordinary milestone for an extraordinary person—Mona Jenkins has been a dedicated member of The Arc of Mercer County family for 40 YEARS! 🥳👏
For four decades, Mona has stood firmly behind our mission to provide advocacy and comprehensive support to people with disabilities, empowering them to live meaningful and fulfilling lives in every aspect of life. And she hasn’t just supported our mission—she has lived it every single day.
Throughout her 40 years with The Arc, Mona has worked across so many areas of our organization, including CPS, Residential, Hab, and more, always bringing the same compassion, dedication, patience, and genuine care to every person she has had the privilege of serving.
Forty years with the same organization is an incredible accomplishment in itself. But what makes Mona’s milestone truly special is the countless lives she has touched along the way. ❤️
Mona has been there for people through their everyday moments, their challenges, their celebrations, their growth, and so many important chapters of their lives. She has provided not only care and support, but also kindness, encouragement, friendship, dignity, and a sense of belonging. The impact she has made cannot be measured simply by the number of years she has worked or the departments she has served—it can be seen in the people whose lives are better because Mona was there.
Working with individuals with disabilities takes a special kind of heart. It takes compassion, understanding, patience, perseverance, and a willingness to see the person first and recognize their abilities, dreams, and potential. Mona has demonstrated those qualities time and time again. She has dedicated 40 years to making a difference, advocating for others, and helping people feel valued, supported, and cared for.
Her commitment is a beautiful reflection of what it means to truly believe in the work we do. Mona doesn’t simply work at The Arc of Mercer County—she is a part of its heart and history. 💙
Mona, thank you for 40 years of unwavering dedication, compassion, love, and service. Thank you for every person you have helped, every life you have touched, every challenge you have faced, and every moment you have made a little better for someone else.
Your legacy is written in the lives of the many people you have served, supported, encouraged, and cared for over the years. We are incredibly grateful and proud to have you as part of our team.
🌟 Congratulations on 40 amazing years, Mona Jenkins! 🌟
Here’s to celebrating YOU and the tremendous difference you have made—and continue to make—every single day. We are so fortunate to have you as part of The Arc of Mercer County! 💙🎉
Happy 40th Anniversary, Mona! 🥳❤️

🥔 Celebrating National Potato Month! 🥔
Our OADC individuals and staff celebrated National Potato Month by working together to create their very own delicious Pierogi Casserole, featuring everyone’s favorite ingredient—potatoes! 😋
During this hands-on activity, individuals learned why September is recognized as National Potato Month—it coincides with the peak season for harvesting potatoes. They also had the opportunity to learn valuable cooking skills while preparing their meal, including measuring ingredients, assisting with preparation, baking, and, of course, enjoying the delicious creation they made together!
This activity was a wonderful way to combine learning, teamwork, independence, and fun while celebrating the humble potato.

Cat and Renay enjoyed a special evening as models in The Salvation Army's Runway with a Purpose fundraiser!

With excitement and confidence, they selected their outfits and loved every moment in the spotlight. Their smiles lit up the runway, reminding us that this event is about more than fashion— The Salvation Army celebrates individuality, building confidence, and being wholly inclusive.

Thank you, Cat and Renay, for helping make Runway with a Purpose such a memorable and inspiring event!
