EMS Week 2026 is here. 🚑🧡
This year’s EMS Week theme, “Improving Outcomes Together,” is something we are deeply passionate about at McGonigle Ambulance Service and something we strive toward every single day.
We are incredibly excited to spend this week celebrating our rockstar team. But EMS Week is about more than just celebration. It is a chance to honor and recognize the individuals who are first to respond, often the last to leave, and who sacrifice so much behind the scenes to care for others during some of the hardest moments of their lives.
This year’s theme is especially meaningful to us because improving outcomes is something we are constantly looking at, evaluating, and trying to improve upon every single day. To us, improving outcomes starts long before an emergency even happens.
That is why we have focused so heavily on community involvement and education; from hosting weekly CPR classes, Stop the Bleed courses, and hands only CPR stations at community events, to organizing food drives, giving back wherever and whenever we can, hosting Community Day, and continuing initiatives like our McGonigle Mission Lemonade Stand. We believe education, preparedness, compassion, and community connection all play a role in improving outcomes together.
Our providers are also incredibly dedicated to continuing their education and strengthening their skills to help improve outcomes whenever possible. Many of our team members regularly attend specialized training courses, conferences, and advanced education opportunities, many timed even traveling out of state, to ensure they are as prepared, educated, and trained as possible to provide the highest level of care in any situation.
But improving outcomes is never accomplished alone.
Every day, we work alongside local fire departments, police departments, hospitals, dispatch centers, schools, businesses, and community organizations to make sure our communities receive the best care and support possible. EMS is built on teamwork, and we are proud to work together with so many incredible agencies and individuals throughout our area.
Most importantly, improving outcomes comes down to people and we truly believe we have some of the best. Our team shows up day after day in the pouring rain, the middle of the night, during holidays, snowstorms, long shifts, difficult calls, and moments most people could never imagine facing. No matter the weather, time of day, or circumstances, they show up.
This week, we show up for them.
What they do can never truly be repaid, but it can and should be honored.
To our team: you are the reason we are able to do what we do. Without you, none of this would be possible. Your compassion, sacrifice, resilience, heart, and dedication are what keep this organization moving forward every single day. Together, we can do anything.
Thank you for everything you do for our communities, for each other, and for this profession. We are incredibly proud of you today and every day. 🧡
