Looking for a fun and FREE way to keep your little explorer learning this summer? Join us at Science in the Park at Harrison Park!

Each week families will discover exciting science and nature topics through hands-on activities, stories, and outdoor exploration designed especially for children ages 4–8.

Today marks the completion of a project that our welding and fabrication students can be incredibly proud of.

After months of planning, measuring, cutting, fitting, welding, grinding, and finishing, the new bridge for Belt Park is officially complete. This project provided our students with a unique opportunity to apply the skills they have learned in the shop to a real-world structure that will serve our community for years to come.

As an instructor, there is nothing more rewarding than watching students take ownership of a project of this scale. They faced challenges, solved problems, worked as a team, and consistently demonstrated professionalism and craftsmanship throughout the entire process. The finished bridge is a reflection of their hard work, dedication, and attention to detail.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such talented young men and women every day. They continue to prove that skilled trades are alive and well, and the future of our industry is in good hands.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported this project, and congratulations to our students for leaving a lasting mark on our community. The next time you visit Belt Park and cross that bridge, know that it was designed, built, and installed by some outstanding students who should be very proud of what they accomplished.

A special thank you to Abe Wright, who built the original Belt Park bridge as an Eagle Scout project, for joining us to see the new bridge installed.

It was a great evening honoring the original contribution, recognizing the students of the Hermiston High School Metals Shop, and celebrating this updated amenity in Belt Park.

The new bridge is in at Belt Park! Thanks to the Hermiston High School metals shop for the build!

When you take a stroll across the new bridge at Belt Park, you can thank the Hermiston High School metals class and especially Zeb, Michael, Rayshawn and Chase who designed and built the replacement.

Also a shoutout to Abe Wright who built the original wooden bridge as an Eagle Scout project 13 years ago. He was at the park today to celebrate the unveiling of the new bridge.

Typical hours are Memorial Day-Labor Day, 11am-7pm. Splash Pad may be closed due to low temperatures and weather.
