I want to express my appreciation for the clarity and care shown in this announcement. Dr. Mosier has been a trusted provider for many families in our community, and knowing that he will continue practicing here in Herington brings real reassurance. His commitment to keeping healthcare local has always mattered, and it’s encouraging to see that commitment strengthened through this new partnership with Morris County Hospital.

Access to dependable, hometown medical care is essential for every resident. The decision to collaborate with MCH—while keeping the same staff, the same clinic, and the same personal approach—reflects a thoughtful investment in Herington’s future. Expanding access to specialists and improving care coordination close to home will make a meaningful difference for many families.

I also appreciate the openness shown by both Dr. Mosier and MCH in acknowledging that change naturally brings questions. Their willingness to communicate early and often helps build trust, and I look forward to the additional information they plan to share in the coming weeks.

Thank you to Dr. Mosier, the clinic team, and Morris County Hospital for working together to strengthen local healthcare. Our community benefits when organizations choose collaboration over competition, and this partnership is a positive step toward long-term stability and access for the people of Herington.

We have some very exciting news!!! As of April 5, 2026, we will be joining Morris County Hospital and Clinic to provide the same great care here in Herington! We are excited for this opportunity and the many benefits this will have for our patients!

We will remain open and caring for our patients throughout the transition so don’t hesitate to give us a call and get in to see us!

Today, I’d like to say “Thank you” to all who don the badge and think of not just themselves and their families, but of the communities they serve with honor and pride.

If you have the opportunity to do the same in person, please do so.

Herington USD 487 7th Graders again this year have the opportunity to participate and represent the City of Herington, Kansas - Municipal Government. Teachers, please note that this contest is eligible as a Classroom Based Assessment (CBA) if it fulfills all the requirements of the Kansas State Department of Education, History Government, and Social Studies, Classroom-Based Assessment. I'd encourage all 7th Graders to consider this and all of our school administration to promote this more.

Did you know that in addition to shooting off fireworks from June 27 through July 5 (between noon and midnight each day)in Herington, you can store consumer fireworks on your property (safely of course) and wait until New Year's Eve and shoot fireworks from 5:00 p.m. on December 31st until 1:00 a.m. on January 1st???

That means you can go down to the Tri County Free Fair building right now and get the fireworks you want to shoot off now and then again on New Year's Eve. Go support the TCFF as all of their proceeds are going to an annual fireworks show that not only caps off their fair but celebrates our nation's birthday!

As a reminder...today is Halloween and tonight there may be an abundance of kids out trick or treating. Please slow down and be more cautious driving through neighborhoods. Let's keep our kids safe so that they can enjoy their spoils!

Have a Happy Halloween!
