***SCAM ALERT***
There is a new scam that has shown up in Morrow County about having a warrant for missing jury duty.

If you receive a email or text advising you have a warrant. . .
IT IS A SCAM.
Even if they send you a realist looking picture of a warrant. . .
IT IS A SCAM.
Sometimes they might say, it is because you missed Jury Duty, or they might come up with something else that could sound like it could possibly happen.

1. If you are chosen for Jury Duty, you will receive a letter from the court in the mail, delivered by the Postal Service.

2. If you have a warrant for your arrest (and it will NOT be for missing jury duty) we are not going to send you an email, or text, we will come to see you personally ; )

If you receive something similar you can call the Sheriff's Office 541-676-5317 and check or you can hang-up/delete/block sender or whatever is the appropriate action.
DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR PERSONAL FINANCIAL INFORMATION or GIVE THEM MONEY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

We send our support to Chief Patrick Huskey, the Sandy Police Department, and the Sandy community following yesterday's tragic events. Prayers of comfort and support to the victims, whose lives were senselessly taken and to Sandy Police Officer Garrett Thornton, who was wounded while protecting others. We also honor the brave first responders who rushed to assist.
Oregon law enforcement is a state wide family. Though we are miles away, Morrow County stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Sandy today and in the difficult days of healing ahead.

⚠️ Road Advisory – Ione/Cecil Area ⚠️

The storm last night caused flooding and damage to several county roads in the Ione and Cecil areas.

Morrow County Public Works crews are aware of the impacted locations and are actively working to assess and repair damaged roadways as quickly and safely as possible.

Please use caution when traveling in these areas, watch for standing water, washouts, debris, and road crews working along the roadway.

Conditions may change rapidly, and some roads may have reduced access until repairs can be completed.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as our crews work to restore safe travel conditions.

Road Closure – Hermiston Area

Multiple agencies are on scene of a brush fire located just south of Interstate 84 on Highway 207 near Space Age. Both I‑84 and Highway 207 are closed in the affected area.

OR-74 REOPENED FOLLOWING BRUSH FIRE CLOSURE

ARLINGTON - UPDATE (Released by ODOT):

OR 74 is open between mileposts 4 and 6 however there are still fire crews in the area and visibility is limited.

I-84 eastbound Exit 147 remains closed 6 miles east of Arlington due to the fire activity.

Smoke may reduce visibility on I-84. Slow down in the area.

Columbia Basin Electric in Heppner, reported their yard had been broken into and over $15,000 worth of items have been stolen.
After investigation, interviews, conducting a search warrant and viewing video footage from the area, arrests have been made in this case. Some of the stolen items have been recovered. This investigation is on-going.

A 30-year-old male and a 40-year-old female, both from Montana have been arrested and lodged at the Umatilla County Jail. Both subjects are charged with Possession of M**h, Aggravated Theft I, Criminal Trespass I and Unauthorized Entry into a Motor Vehicle.
Bail for each has been set at $50,000.
