Great to connect with the next generation!

The Town of Windham was proud to attend Career Day at WAJ this past Friday afternoon. Representatives from the Police Department, Ambulance, Town Hall, and Highway Department spoke with students about careers in public service and what it means to support our Community every day.

🚫 No Parking – Southbound side of Route 296

Friday, April 10, 2026
🚫 No Parking – Northbound side of Route 296
πŸ•– 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

These restrictions will allow crews to safely and efficiently complete road sweeping.

🚧 Street Sweeping Notice – Main Street (NYS Route 23) 🚧

The Town of Windham will be conducting street sweeping on Main Street on the following dates:

Wednesday, April 1
β€’ No parking on the westbound side of Route 23
β€’ 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Thursday, April 2
β€’ No parking on the eastbound side of Route 23
β€’ 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Please move vehicles during these times to allow crews to safely and effectively clean the roadway.

New York's annual burn ban is in effect from March 16 to May 14, 2026. The ban prohibits all outdoor burning, including brush, leaves, and yard waste. There are a few exceptions, such as campfires and cooking fires. The ban is in place to help prevent wildfires, which are more common during the spring months.

Due to the upcoming winter storm forecast for Windham, residents and visitors are advised to avoid extended on-street parking on Main Street (Route 23) during the storm period to allow for safe and efficient snow removal operations.

Two municipal off-street parking lots are available:
Library Road, adjacent to the Windham Theater
Behind the Masonic Lodge

Please plan accordingly, use caution when traveling, and follow all posted advisories. Once the storm has passed, please look for further updates regarding street cleaning.

The Town of Windham Highway Department will continue snow removal tomorrow, Thursday, January 29, beginning at 8:00 AM, on Main Street (Route 23) from Mill Street east towards Mitchell Hollow Road (County Route 21).
