We were honored to attend the annual Henrico County Leadership Prayer Breakfast this morning at the Henrico Sports & Events Center where we remembered the thousands of lives lost on September 11, 2001.

In a joint statement, Chief of Police Eric D. English, Fire Chief Doug W. Clevert, Jr., Chief of Emergency Communications Kevin M. Pond, and Sheriff Alisa A. Gregory said:

“As we mark the 25th anniversary of the events that forever changed our nation, we remain steadfast in celebrating the resilience and unity of Henrico County’s public safety personnel. We are proud to stand together to honor, remember, and pay tribute to the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others.”

We are also grateful to former Governor James “Jim” Gilmore for sharing his thoughtful remarks and valuable perspective on leadership during challenging times. His presence and insight enriched the event and underscored the importance of unity and resilience within our community.

We are thankful for those who have served and continue to serve the Henrico community and look forward to what the future holds.

Although we're a little late in sharing this, we wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone in our community who generously contributed to our annual Personal Hygiene Drive. Your support truly makes a difference!

The Friday before the school year began, we had the privilege of delivering essential hygiene kits to multiple middle schools across Henrico County. The Henrico County Sheriff’s Office is warning our community to be aware of an ongoing scam targeting individuals attempting to post bond for incarcerated family members or friends.

Scammers are impersonating law enforcement personnel or claiming to be associated with the Sheriff’s Office. They may contact victims by phone, provide fraudulent payment instructions, and direct them to send money through peer-to-peer payment apps such as Chime, Cash App, Zelle, Venmo, or other electronic payment methods.

Remember:
• The Henrico County Sheriff’s Office will never call you and request payment for a bond.
• We will never instruct you to send money through payment apps, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or wire transfers.
• If you receive a suspicious call, hang up immediately and verify the information by contacting the Sheriff’s Office directly using an official phone number.
• If you believe you have been targeted or have already sent money, contact your financial institution immediately to report the transaction and notify your local law enforcement agency.

Stay Alert. Stay Informed. Stay Protected.

Please help us protect our community by sharing this information with your family, friends, and neighbors. A few moments of awareness can prevent someone from becoming the next victim.

We know it was a soaker out there last night, but we were still able to connect with community members across Henrico at various National Night Out events!

Working alongside the other public safety agencies in Henrico, these events are always a great opportunity to educate and strengthen those community relationships.
