Picture this! Improvements are coming to give pedestrians easier access to the Hendersonville Greenway on Sanders Ferry Road.

A sidewalk, cross walk, and flashing pedestrian crossing signal will be added near the roadway connecting Spade Leaf Blvd to the Greenway. These improvements will connect the pedestrian crossing to the greenway.

You may notice some intermittent traffic in the area as work begins. We hope that the lasting effects will be worth the inconvenience.

Have you seen solicitors going door-to-door in your neighborhood this summer? We’ve spotted questions online about our Do Not Solicit Registry now that warm weather has returned. Here are a few quick facts:

❓How can I keep a solicitor from knocking on my door?
You can sign up for the city’s Do Not Solicit Registry on our website! Residents must re-register their home every five years. Just head to www.hvilletn.org/DNSR and take a few minutes to register.

❓How is the registry enforced?
If a solicitor doesn’t follow Hendersonville’s requirements, they could be fined or face another violation. Residents letting us know a solicitor broke the rules is incredibly helpful for our permit enforcement. You can report a solicitor who broke the rules to our police department’s non-emergency line at (615) 451-3838.

❓Are there any red flags I can look for in a door-to-door salesperson?
Solicitors must carry a city-issued permit. They are required to show their permit to residents who ask to see the permit. Door-to-door selling is prohibited before 8 am at all times. It is also prohibited after 6 pm during Central Standard Time and after 7 pm during Daylight Savings Time.

He says, “Baby is something wrong?” I say, “Nothing, I was just thinkin’ how [in the early 2000’s I missed Taylor Swift’s performance of ‘Our Song’ at the HHS Talent show]. The success of Miss Swift’s recent release for Toy Story 5 is a timely reminder to avoid FOMO. Never skip a Hendersonville performance featuring up and coming artists!

As we’ve learned from our extensive music history, there’s a good chance that if an artist is in Hendersonville, they just might make it to the ‘big leagues.’ (Must be something in our lake water. 😉) One of those local concerts is tomorrow. We hope you will join us at the Live Love Nashville concert on June 12. You can get free tickets and learn more about how the event will benefit a local organization at www.hendersonvillejam.com

North Anderson Lane Road Work Update:

As a part of their planned development, In-N-Out is working on road improvements to a portion of North Anderson Lane at the Main Street Intersection. This work will remove the median and add an additional lane to help improve traffic flow in the area.

In order to reduce project construction time, TDOT has approved a full lane closure of the NB lane of North Anderson Ln at Main St starting Thursday morning, 6/11. During this time, traffic heading north on N. Anderson will need to use an alternate route. South-bound access from N. Anderson to Main St will be open during construction.

Drivers can use Maple Dr N or Calendar Lane as alternate routes. The map below highlights the closure point as well as the detour options.

Pending weather delays, this portion of the construction should wrap up the week of June 22. We appreciate your patience while we continue to make improvements in the city.

We were thrilled to join The State of Tennessee to honor country music icon Randy Travis! The State unveiled a new Tennessee Music Pathway marker at the former site of Morningstar Recording Studio, now home to Moby Dicky’s. Hendersonville Parks & Recreation dedicated the nearby lakeshore as “Point Amen,” home to where Randy Travis first recorded his hit song, “Forever and Ever, Amen.”

By the way: this is Hendersonville’s FIFTH Music Pathway marker. You can visit the other markers to learn more about our city’s rich musical history.
