🚨MISSING / ENDANGERED PERSON🚨

The Henderson Police Department is seeking your assistance in locating Eddie Reese, that is 67 years old.

Mr. Reese was released from the Rusk County Jail on August 10, 2026, and was last seen that same day on Webster Street in Henderson. He was wearing a white T-shirt, jean shorts, and blue UGG slides.

If you see or have contact with Mr. Reese, please ask him to contact his family and Detective C. Downey with the Henderson Police Department.

Happy National K9 Day to our buddy, K9 Barney!

Barney is 7 years old and is utilized at HISD for sniffing out contraband. When he’s off duty, he enjoys long walks, and naps. According to his handler, K9 Officer Case, he REALLY likes when people stop to say hi.
Basically, Barney works hard, naps harder, and has never met a stranger.

We are VERY thankful for the rain! Our area desperately needed it!

However, please remember the BURN BAN IS STILL IN EFFECT.

Also, use extra caution on the roads. After months of dry weather, rain can bring oil and grime to the surface, making roadways especially slick.

STOP! SENDING! MONEY! TO! SCAMMERS!!!!!

If someone calls or texts you claiming you have a warrant and tells you that you can “take care of it” by sending gift cards, Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, or an immediate electronic payment… just STOP!

WE DON’T DO THAT.

Law enforcement will not call you and demand payment to make a warrant disappear. We will not ask you to buy gift cards, send Bitcoin, or transfer money to avoid being arrested.

Before you send money, hang up and call your local law enforcement agency directly.

Just a heads up!!!

🚌 Thank you for your patience as we get the new school year rolling!

Our bus drivers do a great job, and they are working hard to get students to and from school safely each day. During these first few days, some buses may run a little later than expected as drivers get familiar with new routes, stops and students.

Things will settle into a more predictable routine as the school year gets underway. In the meantime, we appreciate your patience and understanding.

And a big THANK YOU to our bus drivers and transportation staff for the important work they do for our students every day! ❤️💙

As the new school year begins, please remember that school zones and buses are officially starting today.

Drivers are reminded to slow down, remain alert, and put the phone away. Distracted driving has no place in a school zone. Watch carefully for students, crossing guards, increased traffic, and school buses loading and unloading students.

When a school bus is stopped with its red lights flashing and stop sign extended, STOP and remain stopped as required by law.

No text, call, or driving past a stopped school bus is worth risking a life.

Please do your part to help keep our students, staff, and community safe. Drive safely and stay focused.
