The Point

The Point A shallow area (sand bar) on the east end of Lake Cherokee. Legend has it that this area was once inhabited by native indians. Get to The Point!!

If you dig your toes deep enough into the sand you might find a piece of broken pottery made long ago, if you look closely you can see the brush strokes from the indian squaw that made it by hand. About 8-10 years ago a couple of shareholders built a simple "tiki bar" for one to set a beverage if so inclined. Shortly after followed a primitive volleyball net and a patio umbrella. It is not unusual

to see 7-8 boats gathered at this area on any given day. This has become a popular gathering spot second only to The Island. In July 2012, The Point was upgraded to include a floating dock/pier complete with a pirate flag and has already been enjoyed by numerous lake bums.
