The Occupy Wall Street protest may turn out to be a seminal event in the lives of today’s college students. In many ways, it’s reminiscent of the campus protests of the 1960s. But it may also be responsible for creating a new type of activist.

Well, here we have it. It's not perfect, but it's better, and it's better because all of you cared enough to help. Thank you all. You made this happen.

Cuts from education, K-12th grade went down from $211 million to $116.8 million.
Cuts from higher education went down from $76 million to $46 million.

The education cuts, which had been a major sticking point, amount to 6.9 percent for K-12 and higher education. This marks a compromise as the governor originally sought 10 percent, Republicans wanted 7.5 percentand Democrats were pushing for 5 percent.
