The Nevada Veterans Association is the political arm of Veterans and their families who live in Nevada. We will be interviewing and endorsing candidates for office at the state and local level to insure that only the best qualified candidates who have the veterans best interests are identified. Veterans all across the state have recognized the gaps in service that exist and have taken the initiati

ve to care for each other. Some have gone so far as formed non profits and foundations to meet the needs of veterans. With all the work that is being done, it is time to share that wealth of information so that all can have the best tools when helping veterans who may not be aware. There are over 300,000 veterans in the state and there is plenty of work to be done and we have enough support from each other to make it happen.

A Navy SEAL died convinced years of exposure to blasts had badly damaged his brain.

“He was hurt, and he wasn’t crazy,” his father Frank Larkin says.

In 2017, a postmortem study found that Ryan Larkin, a combat medic and instructor who taught SEALs how to breach buildings with explosives, had a pattern of brain scarring unique to service members who’ve endured repeated explosions.

Seven years later, an Army reservist who carried out a high-profile mass shooting was also found to have brain damage, underscoring how much the research and technology needed to fully understand and treat traumatic brain injury is still lagging, experts and advocates said.

Now, his dad says the military needs to take this issue more seriously.

VIPI Disingenuous Candidate Endorsements

We find the disingenuous messaging from VeteransIn Politics and Steve Sanson highly unfortunate. We are currently in litigation with VeteransIn Politics (VIPI) over the rights to the name "Nevada Veterans Association". The case is in District Court, Case Number A-22-851779-C. We are not currently affiliated with VIPI, nor has our organization ever been affiliated with VIPI. Steve Sanson took advantage of an older generation veteran who is the President of our organization (Donna Lee) when, upon renewal of the organization with the Secretary of State, paid the fees so that he could claim the name of our organization. This demonstrates a significant lack of character and integrity. Continuing to message candidates through social media and newsprint is a further demonstration of the unfortunate circumstances that he has placed candidates and members of our community in. We hope that any candidate who receives this disingenuous endorsement, demonstrates leadership characteristics and contacts our organization's president through email at [email protected]. Our organization has been holding endorsement interviews since 2016, and will continue our process this election cycle. Our President works with over a dozen veteran organizations within the community and that should signify the credibility and outreach we have. Consultants and candidates may contact Donna Lee for endorsement interview scheduling.

FIRST PERMANENT AFRICAN-AMERICAN MODEL ON 'THE PRICE IS RIGHT'
Kathleen Bradley (born January 10, 1951) is an American former model, former singer, actress and host. She is primarily known as a "Barker's Beauty" on the CBS daytime game show The Price Is Right from 1990 until 2000. She is noted as the first permanent African-American model on the show.
Bradley was born in Girard, Ohio. Bradley was the only girl of four brothers. She won the "Miss Black California" award in 1971. In the 1970s, she was part of two short-lived disco groups, The Love Machine and Destination. She was also a model for Ultra Sheen.
In 1978, she played Sweet Daddy Williams's Nurse on 'Good Times' ("Blood Will Tell"). Sweet Daddy Williams goes into the hospital in need of a blood transfusion and wants J.J. to help. She is also known for 'Grey's Anatomy' (2005).
Bradley has been married twice. Her first marriage was to actor Bill Overton from 1980 to 1984. She has been married to mechanical engineer Terrence Redd since 1988. She has two children; a daughter, Cheyenne Overton, from her marriage with Overton; and their son Terrence Redd II. Her stepdaughter Dior is from Redd's marriage to actress Bern Nadette Stanis (Thelma on 'Good Times').
She was in the 1989 movies 'Troop Beverly Hills' as Mrs. Shakar and 'Harlem Nights' as Lady. She is most famous for her role as Mrs. Parker in the 1995 movie 'Friday'.
Shortly after having testified during the lawsuit for slander and defamation of character (host and executive producer Bob Barker filed against model Holly Hallstrom), Bradley, along with longtime model Janice Pennington, was released from her modeling duties on The Price Is Right in October 2000. Barker lost his suit against Hallstrom and afterward fired Bradley, Pennington and other show staffers whose testimony contradicted Barker's. She accepted an undisclosed monetary settlement and did not pursue litigation.
In June 2014, she released her memoirs, Backstage at The Price Is Right: Memoirs of a Barker Beauty.
