Basic Academy of International Studies has a rich tradition of providing excellence in academics, activities and athletics. The teachers and staff have a deep belief in, and a commitment to, achievement in each student. Our understanding that each child can learn, achieve and be successful is the principle that guides our every action. Acting upon our belief that every child can learn, we have inc

reased the rigor relevance of our coursework. Over the past four years we have increased the number of students in our Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) classes and added an AP Geography class for our incoming freshmen to satisfy the demand for academically challenging coursework at Basic Academy. Basic Academy is a part of an AP NMSI (National Math Science Initiative), which is designed to provide training to teachers to extend and push the students academically, along with providing students in need with financial assistance to take the tests that prove their academic excellence. In
addition to increasing our AP coursework, Basic Academy is proud to announce we are developing a full International Baccalaureate (IB) Program. The IB Program is a comprehensive program channeling students on the global aspects of education, with all the coursework focused intensively on integrating the global framework of the program. Our vision for Basic Academy continues to be focused on academic success for our students. With that in mind, I am confident that I have assembled the best teaching staff in the district. At Basic Academy, we all continually receive nothing less than academic excellence from our teachers, in every imaginable way. Our students are asked to extend and push their understanding of the world, in all its' myriad ways, by the exemplary teaching staff at Basic Academy. Extension of ourselves in the pursuit of academic and personal excellence is the way we function at Basic Academy.

Principal’s Vision

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year. I am extremely excited as I enter into my second year as Principal of Basic Academy. I’m grateful for the staff, students, and our great community, who embraced and continue to embrace the vision of being the Greatest Academy of International Studies.

Basic Academy is rich in tradition, pride, and community. We will continue our traditions which are unique to Basic Academy and we will create new traditions that will be unique to our current students, community, and alumni. All stakeholders will know the culture and be proud to say “Once a Wolf, Always a Wolf.”

In my first year the staff has developed Core Values and Beliefs which will drive the culture in how we do business. Our culture evolves around our students first. Every student on our campus deserves and will have an opportunity to achieve to their fullest potential. We understand that it’s our responsibility to ensure our students success and it begins with our belief that our students are the priority. With that being said, we will focus on purposeful planning which is driven by student data, peer collaboration, and best practices. We will be reflective in our practices and ensure our course of actions are calculated and provide a return on investment.

As the Principal, I am committed to the vision and the mantra of Be You...Be Strong...Be Great! Going into our second year, you will notice more changes in the physical appearance of our building to exemplify the sense of pride. We will continue with our new initiative in recognizing alumni who have been major stakeholders in our community. Our former students who currently serve in the Armed Forces will be recognized. I will continue to support our teachers’ professional development to increase the number of National Board Certified Teachers on staff. To address social and emotional learning, new to our campus is the Invo Multidisciplinary Program to Address Childhood Trauma (IMPACT) team.
