Henderson voters, thank you for your overwhelming support of the Parks and Recreation Ballot Question 1!

Today marks an extraordinary moment for Henderson. The successful passage of Ballot Question 1 is a tremendous victory for our community and an investment that makes our City a special place to live, learn, work and play.

We are deeply grateful to the residents of Henderson for their support and trust. Your vote reflects the vital role our parks and recreation system play in our community and demonstrates a shared commitment to preserving and strengthening a legacy that enriches lives and strengthens neighborhoods.

TOMORROW, Tuesday, June 9, is your only opportunity to vote in the Primary Election and cast your ballot on Henderson Ballot Question 1. 🗳️ Here is what you need to know to make an informed decision at the polls:

WHAT IT ASKS: Voters are being asked whether to maintain an existing $0.12 property tax levy (originally approved in 1997) for another 30 years, or let it expire in 2027.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE BALLOT PASSES? Your dollars remain in Henderson to support clean, well-maintained parks, trails and sports fields, youth and senior services, safe, active neighborhoods and strong property values.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE BALLOT DOESN’T PASS? Voting "no" directs more of your dollars out of Henderson, impacting the future of our Parks and Recreation services and amenities. This may potentially lead to reductions in park maintenance, fewer recreation programs, decreased property values, a decline in City services, and economic and community vitality.

Henderson is consistently ranked one of the best places to live in the West. One of the biggest reasons? A parks system that is the highest ranked in Nevada and Top 26 nationally.

Quick civic fact: the $0.12 Parks & Rec property tax that funds Henderson’s parks has been in place since 1997. If you’ve grown up in Henderson or moved here in recent years, this levy has been operating in the background — funding the parks, trails and programs you’ve been using all along!

The June 9 vote doesn’t ask for a new tax. It asks: keep this one going, or let it expire in 2027?

Henderson’s parks are the highest ranked Nevada park system and Top 26 nationally. 85% of residents live within a 10-minute walk of a park. This is what that funding made possible.

Early Voting ends today | Election Day is June 9, 2026

Henderson is consistently ranked one of the best places to live in the West. One of the biggest reasons? A parks system that is the highest ranked in Nevada and Top 26 nationally.

77 parks. 300+ miles of trails. Dog parks, skate parks, BMX, pickleball, disc golf, splash pads and fitness courts. Sports leagues, aquatics, community events for 150,000+ residents annually.

All of it is funded in part by the $0.12 per $100 property tax that Henderson voters approved in 1997. The June 9 ballot question asks whether voters want to maintain that same funding rate for the next 30 years.
