@13:50 all units were clear of the scene.

Crims chapel, Church Hill VFD and Texas Forest scene are on the scene of an approximately 4 acre grass/woods fire on CrR 254 just off of FM 782 in Northern Rusk county.

@ 12:50 yesterday, Crims Chapel VFD was dispatched for a reported grass/woods fire on CR 254. Additional resources were requested from Texas Forest Service and Church Hill VFD due to prime fire conditions for rapid spread into a nearby pine plantation. The fire was quickly contained to approximately 3 acres.

We respectfully wish to clarify that the members of the Crims Chapel Volunteer Fire Department have not endorsed Mr. Kuykendall for Commissioner of Rusk County Pct. 2, nor have we taken a position on this — or any — political race.

At no time has the department held any meeting, taken any vote, or authorized any individual to speak on behalf of the department or issue a blanket statement endorsing any political candidate or race.

As a tax-exempt organization, we are committed to remaining nonpartisan and do not engage in political endorsements in order to maintain compliance with regulations governing our status.

Any endorsement that has been communicated was made by a single individual and does not represent the department as a whole or its membership. Each member retains the right to support and vote for candidates based on their own personal beliefs and opinions.

We appreciate the community’s support and understanding as we remain focused on our mission of serving and protecting the public.
