Harbor House is facing an urgent need for sponsorships and donations, following an overwhelming response to the White Flag initiative. As a Christian organization, we are ineligible for state and federal funding, and instead rely on the generosity of local churches, businesses, and individuals to operate. Our shelter is currently providing vital services to 35-40 men, many of whom have been forced to live on the streets or in vehicles. With bills mounting and essential items in short supply, we are counting on the kindness of our community to help us weather this challenging period. Tragic losses in Kentucky and surrounding areas serve as a stark reminder of the importance of our work, and we are eager to explore various forms of support, including financial donations, special collections, and in-kind contributions.

I have a totally big ask…
Would anyone be willing to donate their time to clean our parking lot at the shelter? It’s getting pretty bad. We are trying to save every amount of money possible right now to break ground on the new facility. We need to be able to house as many homeless individuals as possible. It’s not a very large parking lot but the entrance and exit are both at an incline.

With snow arriving and dangerously cold temperatures impacting our community, we want to share shelter information again to ensure everyone knows where to find a safe, warm place to stay. No one should have to face these conditions alone.

We are overjoyed by the many of you that have asked how you can help at this time.
We would really appreciate anyone that would like to donate lunch, breakfast or dinner to our men. **think easy meals, soup and sandwiches, donuts, fried chicken, beans and cornbread, burgers** We are feeding way more than usual and it is so helpful to our kitchen workers. Message us and we can gladly set that up for you.
I will also post our Amazon wish list in the comments. These are items that we use day in and day out and we update our “most needed” items frequently.
You can also pray that those in need during these trying times find their way to us or find their way to other help.
Also, spread the word of our mission to help the homeless in Henderson County to others.
We also serve two meals to the community daily. Lunch is around 12:00 and dinner is usually served around 5:00.
