The Nassau County Office of Youth Services is excited to announce our annual “Prom Dress and Suit Giveaway” event being held on May 2, 2026 at 40 Main St, Lower Level, Hempstead, NY 11550‼️‼️‼️

We understand how important prom is to graduating students who have worked hard for their achievement and deserve to be celebrated.
We also know the high cost of attending prom and want to help off set the expense by offering free dresses, suits and more.

If any Nassau County students are interested in attending and receiving a Dress Or Suit, Please Register Online through our QR Code. 🥳

We ask your help by donating new or gently used dresses, shoes, purses, custom jewelry, suits, ties, etc.

The Nassau County Office of Youth Services is excited for our annual “Prom Dress and Suit Giveaway” event to be held on May 2, 2026. !!!!

Due to today’s freezing temperatures, Nassau County’s Temporary Warming Center is officially open to ensure no one in our community is left out in the cold.

Warming Center Location:
Former Nassau County Family Court
1200 Old Country Road, Westbury
*Open 24 hours while activated

The center is activated when the wind chill reaches 32°F or below for two consecutive hours or more, which we are experiencing today.

If you encounter anyone who may need overnight shelter, please direct them to call the Nassau County Winter Homeless Hotline:

Today, the Nassau County Office of Youth Services proudly partnered with Island Harvest, Long Island Cares, the Rotary Club of Hicksville South, and Auto N’ Drive to make this Thanksgiving a little brighter for our community. Together, we provided turkeys and full holiday dinner fixings to support families during this season of giving.
Thanks to the generosity of our partners and volunteers, we were able to serve 300 families ensuring a delicious Thanksgiving meal.
We are incredibly thankful for the continued support, collaboration, and heart that each organization brings to the table. This is what community looks like coming together to uplift, support, and care for one another.
Wishing everyone a safe, joyful, and blessed holiday season.
