⚖️ Breaking Barriers Workshop

A criminal record can create challenges when pursuing employment, education, or professional licensing—but there may be legal options that can help.

Join us for an informative presentation on the Breaking Barriers Program, featuring Elizabeth Justesen, Esq. of the Legal Aid Society of Suffolk County.

The Breaking Barriers Program provides free legal assistance to individuals with criminal convictions who may be facing challenges related to employment, education, or professional licensing.

During this session, participants will learn about:
📄 Certificates of Relief from Disabilities
✅ Certificates of Good Conduct
📝 Eligibility requirements and the application process
💼 How a criminal record may affect employment and professional licensing
⚖️ Legal resources that may help address barriers to future opportunities

The program is a collaborative initiative involving Touro Law School and the Legal Aid Society of Suffolk County, along with local community and re-entry partners.

Aviprep Basic is designed to help prepare participants for entry-level jobs in the aviation industry — including opportunities that do not require a bachelor’s degree and may offer a strong starting wage and benefits.
