Did you know that one of the world's largest collections of USS Tennessee memorabilia is right here in Scott County?

The USS Tennessee BB-43 World War II Remembrance Museum is open today from 10 AM to 4 PM and offers visitors a chance to explore the history of one of the most decorated battleships of World War II. From Pearl Harbor to the Pacific Theater, the USS Tennessee played a remarkable role in American history.

Whether you're a history enthusiast, a veteran, have family members who served, or you're simply looking for something interesting to do on a Saturday, this is one of those hidden gems that many people don't realize is right here in our own backyard.

Take a drive, learn something new, and spend a little time exploring a piece of history that helped shape our nation. ❤️🤍💙

The Scott County Chamber hereby declares today **"Treat Yourself Day."**

We encourage all citizens to celebrate responsibly by visiting one of our local restaurants, ice cream shops, bakeries, coffee shops, or wherever your favorite sweet treat happens to live.

After all, if you're going to dodge raindrops, sweat through the sunshine, and carry both sunglasses and an umbrella, you deserve dessert.

So whether it's ice cream, cake, pie, a milkshake, a cinnamon roll, or that dessert you've been thinking about all week...

Today seems like a pretty good day to treat yourself.

If this heat keeps up, the sun is starting to feel a little like kryptonite.

Thankfully, every superhero story needs a team that shows up when things get rough.

Our networking partner, Sexton's HEAT & AIR, Inc., has been helping keep Scott County families stay comfortable for years. When the A/C decides it is taking a vacation, the heat won't cooperate, or your system just needs a little attention, they're the folks many of our neighbors call.

The Scott County Chamber of Commerce is proud to present a FREE Community Pool Party sponsored by Perdue’s Shell in Helenwood! 💚

Bring the kids, bring the floaties, bring the sunscreen, and come enjoy a fun evening with the community as we kick off summer together!

🚜⚠️ Happy National Forklift Safety Day, Scott County! ⚠️🚜

Today, we want to give a big shoutout to the hardworking men and women across Scott County industries, warehouses, factories, shipping departments, and businesses who keep things moving every single day. 💚

A lot of the work that keeps our community going happens quietly behind the scenes — products being loaded, materials being moved, orders being shipped, and long shifts being worked without much recognition. But make no mistake… those rolling forklift wheels help keep Scott County working.

So today, we salute every operator carefully moving products from Point A to Point B, helping businesses grow, customers get what they need, and families put food on the table.

May your pallets stay straight, your loads stay balanced, and your backup alarms beep proudly today. 😄

It’s a brand new week, and it looks like we’re finally going to get some much-needed rain over the next few days. 💚

Now, we’ll gladly take the steady, smooth kind of rain… preferably without the flooding part. 😄

As you head out this week, remember:

💚 Give yourself a little extra time and travel safely

🎣🐟 Kids Fishing Day 2026 is almost here! 🐟🎣

Grab the kiddos, the fishing poles, and come make some memories at Oneida City Park on June 6 from 8 AM – 11 AM! ☀️

This fun community event is sponsored by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and is a great chance for kids to enjoy the outdoors, learn a little patience 😄, and hopefully reel in a big one!

🎣 No fishing permit required during the event
🍳 Free breakfast provided by Casey’s
🏆 Prizes for each age group

Whether it’s their very first fish or just a fun summer morning by the water, we can’t wait to see families out enjoying everything that makes small-town summers special. 💚
