We are thrilled to have Mrs. Evans join our admin team at HIS!

RaLeigh Evans will serve as the next assistant principal at Helena Intermediate School. Evans has 14 years of educational experience and most recently taught 3rd grade at Helena Intermediate.

Evans earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Auburn University, followed by a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education and an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Educational Leadership, both from Arkansas State University. She also holds certifications in Collaborative Special Education and Early Childhood Education.

Her diverse experience across physical education, adapted physical education, special education, and elementary education has shaped her commitment to creating inclusive, engaging learning environments where all students feel supported, challenged, and successful. She believes in building strong relationships with students, celebrating individual strengths, and providing meaningful opportunities for every child to grow academically and socially. Mrs. Evans is looking forward to serving the students, teachers, staff, and broader Helena community in this role, especially in the community she is now proud to call home.

Our P.E. Department's Word of the Week last week was Kindness. These three students were recognized for showing kindness and being examples of Our Husky Way throughout the week for their grade level. We are proud of you!

First day, best day! It was an AMAZING day at HIS!

This morning we celebrated a special moment with two of our teachers opening up a classroom for the first time! What a privilege to celebrate this moment with them!

The faculty and staff of HIS had a great day of learning to CONNECT to our students, community, growth, and each other! We also were treated to a fabulous lunch by our amazing PTO! A great start to the best year yet!
