Monday evening, along with Fremont Fire Department, some of our firefighters had the opportunity to train on different extrication techniques and scenarios involving entrapment.

A big thanks to Madison Motor Service for providing the vehicles and space to allow for this critical training!

Our egg drill from 2 weeks ago was good practice, but actual scenarios are better😂

We took advantage of the rain yesterday and practiced precision skills with the extrication equipment. This may look like a silly training but it is actually very beneficial. It helps firefighters practice extreme precision, finesse, and control over a piece of equipment that can exert upwards of 10,00 pounds of pressure and sometimes more.

Here is a perfect reminder of why you should “turn around, don’t drown”. A few feet of rushing water is much stronger than it looks.

The water had no trouble at all sweeping this trash truck off the road. Even an empty trash truck still weighs thousands of pounds more than even a large SUV.

Don’t chance it. Go the long way!
