The demonstration included drug searches, obedience exercises, decoy apprehension, K9 recall through a crowd and a question/answer session. The Phillips County Sheriff’s Office has received a non-matching grant from protection4paws to install a temperature monitoring system. This system is in place to notify the handler that dangerous temperatures are inside the unit for our K9 partner so the K9 can be removed from the unit to safety. The system also will open the windows to the unit, turn on a fan and active an alarm system for the siren and emergency lights.
Sheriff Byrd wishes to thank Tina Richardson, President and Founder of protection4paws for this gracious donation to our K9 team.
If you are able, please consider donating to help other K9 teams with this important equipment.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., established in 2009, is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States.
