Hearts Family Resource Center

Hearts Family Resource Center Why was HEARTS established? Who will we serve? How does someone get assistance from HEARTS?

HEARTS of Cleburne is a volunteer based organization working in cooperation with area churches, businesses, schools, agencies and individuals willing to give of their skills and expertise to help people with short-term needs reach long-term success. We felt a need to respond to the increasing need for access to social services and resources for individuals and families desiring a better quality of

life. The HEARTS Organization serves individuals residing in Cleburne County who are either self-referred or referred by other means. Eligible populations are individuals, families, children, youth, disabled and elderly of Cleburne County, as well as their caregivers, regardless of their marital status, race, sex, creed, national origin, veteran status, disabling condition, or cultural background/religious beliefs. HEARTS provides appropriate services to eligible persons needing to increase their capacity to achieve independence and self-reliance, thus improving their dignity and self-worth within the community. OBJECTIVES

HEARTS will strive to meet the basic needs within the capability of the organization and its resources. HEARTS will develop positive working relationships with businesses, churches and social agencies to assist in expanding the available resources within the community. HEARTS will facilitate an awareness of the people in the community of the goals of the center, the needs of people served and the resources available. HEARTS will strive to help every area resident to become self-reliant, and thereby improving their ability to succeed. Persons needing assistance may come to either HEARTS location and fill out a HEARTS application, which is required for all HEARTS services. Upon receiving the completed HEARTS application and other required documents, a HEARTS volunteer will then assess the client’s needs and take action accordingly. A heartfelt thank you to the incredible team at Steel Magnolias and to everyone who made this year’s golf tournament a success. To our sponsors, volunteers, golfers, donors, and supporters—your generosity and dedication make a lasting difference in the lives of local cancer patients and their families.

Because of your support, HEARTS of Cleburne’s Cancer Relief Services program can continue providing gas vouchers, nutritional supplements, incontinence supplies, emergency financial assistance, support groups, and other critical resources to those facing cancer.

We are truly grateful for each person who gave their time, talents, resources, and prayers. Your compassion reminds our neighbors battling cancer that they are not alone. Together, we are bringing hope, encouragement, and practical support when it is needed most. Thank you for helping us make a difference in our community. ❤️

Join us Wednesday, June 3rd at 8am in the Hearts of Cleburne building in downtown Heflin for our monthly meeting. We will hear from Dr. Carol Lucy, Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at Jacksonville State University. Dr. Lucy effectively created the entrepreneurship program at JSU and secured $350,000 in funding from Regions Bank to ensure its long-term sustainability. In recent years, JSU has hosted six business plan pitch competitions and recently qualified to compete in the Hult National qualifier competition, placing it in the top 10% of programs in the world. Dr. Lucy will be talking about entrepreneurial opportunities in our region and how entrepreneurship education fits with other business development activities to grow the local economy.
