Election day is now in the rearview mirror and although I came up short this time, I want to thank everyone for their love and support during this past year. First, I want to thank my campaign manager Greg Smith, Esq. I had hoped to thank him on the heels of victory but he deserves high praise no matter the outcome. Few people have appreciated his wisdom and brilliance in and out of the courtroom and I have been blessed to have his friendship and mentoring ever since we worked together in the Berkeley County Prosecuting Attorney's Office years ago. Thank you to my wonderful wife Kate and my loving children Liam and Jackson who have been there with me throughout this journey. I love you all more than anything in this world. :) Thank you to John Diamondidis for your hard work in the trenches as well as Sharnjeet Singh for his dedication to our grassroots efforts. Thank you to my parents and family for all of their support and faith in me. Thank you to my friends and loved ones who have stood by me. For those who have voted for me, I recognize your support and will vindicate your trust in me by never giving up in the fight to help our community. You have not given up on me and I will never give up on serving you. Another time will come for me to serve the community but for now I shall be content in helping the people of the panhandle as I always have through my practice and through my life. This is not the end of the journey but only the beginning as our community will still need to overcome the challenges it faces. Rest assured, that I will be there to help in any way that I can. Finally, I would be remiss if I did not publicly congratulate Laura Faircloth on her well earned victory. I also congratulate the Division I winner Bridget Cohee as well on her victory and running an excellent campaign as well. It has been a pleasure getting to know you both better and your family on the campaign trail and I look forward to being able to provide what assistance that I can to the Court. Thank you all and God bless you. Best Wishes, Nicholas

Nearly a year has passed since I announced my intention to run for Division VI Circuit Court Judge for the 23rd Judicial Circuit comprising Morgan, Berkeley and Jefferson counties. It has been a long and winding road filled with fond memories with wonderful people. It has been a privilege and an Honor to meet so many good folks living in our community who care about the future as much as I do. Tomorrow is Election Day. Tomorrow is the last chance to vote and determine what the future will hold for our people. This is my home. This is where my wife and I have chosen to raise our children. I have a vested interest to make sure we succeed and to do that, I, like so many others, know that politics as usual won't work. To get different output, you need different input combining old fashioned values with new age sensibilities. We need balance. We need hope and renewed faith. We need more than the sum of our parts to form a greater whole. I will do all that I can to help us achieve what we know we can aspire to become and I thank all of you for your support and vote. I shall vindicate your faith and validate your trust in me by doing the right thing and focusing on doing my job with hard work and determination. Today is a typical monday for me where I will be in each county of the Panhandle, not politicking, but working as I always do. As people have found out as the campaign trails comes to an end tomorrow, I don't just talk the talk, I walk the walk and back up everything that I say and do. Tomorrow, with your help, we change the course of our community for the better. Tomorrow is a new day. Tomorrow, please Pick Nick Colvin for Judge Division VI. Thank you all and God bless you.

Thank you to the NAACP in Jefferson County West Virginia and the Berkeley County Farm Bureau for hosting candidate forums this week. It is a wonderful thing to see the community of the Panhandle so involved in this election. Early voting starts today leading up to the May 10th election: Although it is the primary, it is also the first and last election for judicial officers. I am honored to have received your support and I hope to serve the community for years to come. Thank you to all who go to the polls, today through Election Day, and Pick Nick Colvin for Division 6 Circuit Court Judge. :)

Thank you to the BCRC for last nights wonderful Lincoln dinner in Inwood, WV at St. Leo's church. Kate and I were delighted to see so many friends and community leaders in attendance including a number of youth from spring mills high school. (Thanks for the pic Devon :) Dinner was lovely as was the company at our table including longtime public servant John Overington and gubernatorial candidate Bill Cole to name just a few. I was honored to spread the message of my candidacy for Judge and was humbled by the warm and welcome reception. I look forward to meeting even more great West Virginians as the campaign trail shall soon run its course.

Thank you to everyone who attended the morgan county friends of scouts dinner tonight at the country inn in berkeley springs wv. I caught a candid of Liam, Jackson and Kate. :) I am honored to be the tiger den leader and I am so proud of my tiger scout Liam and future lion scout Jackson. Hoping that they both enjoy scouting as much as I did as a kid for years to come. :)

Sorry to have missed the We the People forum in jefferson county tonight. My wife had fallen ill requiring medical attention and I needed to get home to take care of her and my boys. Mercifully, her CAT scan came back negative so no PE. Thank you for your prayers and support as I expect she shall make a full recovery soon.

Good morning all! Due to an accident on rt 9 near hedgesville this morning, traffic was backed up which resulted in my being unable to attend the Hans fogle radio show this morning in a timely fashion. (Hopefully, no one was injured in the traffic accident) As such, I will appear on the show on April 14 at 830am instead. Thank you to the flexibility of WEPM 1340 and Hans Fogle to permit this change. Have a great day.

Good morning all. :) Be sure to listen in to Hans Fogle's radio program tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. as I will be his guest. Have a great day.

It's time for another "Real Questions, Real Answers". Today's question: "Can our association endorse your candidacy for Judge?" Well, I respectfully request that you don't. That probably strikes you as an odd, non-political answer but that's the point. Although endorsements are certainly commonplace in today's world, I am opposed to receiving them. Why? Well, I think that once you accept support from a particular group or association in such a dramatic and public way, it creates an appearance that you are aligned with their policies. That's the point, of course, but what if their goals and policies conflict with the Law? How would I, as a candidate sworn to not be a judicial activist, respond given that landscape? People who appear before me in Court need to know that they will get a fair shake and I believe that accepting endorsements erodes confidence in our judiciary to be fair and impartial. I understand that this is an old fashioned view but it is a real question and folks deserve real, unedited answers from their potential elected officials.
