Town of Hebron, CT Emergency Management and CERT The Hebron Office of Emergency Management (OEM) assists the public and supports first responders during emergencies and planned events.

The main operational arm of the OEM is the town's CERT team. Paul Bancroft is the Emergency Management Director.

The Hebron Harvest Fair is over for another year. We met some nice people there. Our Medical Response Corps partners treated 30 people in the first aid tent and CERT members found 2 missing persons. Many thanks also to our Hebron Fire Department, Hebron Police, and State Police colleagues.

The Hebron Harvest Fair starts Thursday. A few safety tips:
>Anticipate heavy or stopped traffic on Route 85 during fair hours. Watch out for pedestrians!
>Take a photo of your child right before entering the fair. It will help us find them if you get separated.
>Don't rely entirely on your cellphone. Batteries die and the signal can be weak inside the fair. Agree on a meeting area in case your group gets separated.
>Look for a uniformed police officer, firefighter, or CERT member if you need help.
>Plan for the weather. It can get hot on a sunny day. Drink plenty of fluids.
>Pack your epi injector if you have any serious allergies.
>There are 2 first aid stations on the fairgrounds, one near Gate 2 and the Antique Tractors, the other near the Cattle Barn and Main Stage viewing area.

WTNH has upgraded our area to a Moderate risk for a tornado today. Don't be alarmed, CT tornadoes tend to be small, but keep an eye on the weather, especially this evening until midnight. Either way, we might have some strong winds and maybe a few power outages later.
