CENTER CREEK FIRE

We are aware of the fire currently burning in the Center Creek area. Please do not call Dispatch to report this fire, as emergency crews are already aware and resources have responded.

The fire is located in a remote area and appears to be on U.S. Forest Service land. Resources from Wasatch Fire District, the State of Utah, and the U.S. Forest Service have responded.

A helicopter assisted crews, completing three water drops. At this time, the fire is sitting in a group of trees and is holding.

Due to the remote location and terrain, Wasatch, State, and Federal crews plan to hike into the area tomorrow morning to continue working the fire and clean up remaining hot spots. The helicopter may return to assist after crews assess conditions.

We appreciate the quick response and coordination between our local, state, and federal partners.

Did you get this right?

Here’s your friendly reminder about Utah’s school bus laws:

When a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop sign extended, you MUST stop — unless there is a physical median dividing you from the bus.

Please slow down, stay alert, and help keep our students safe as they head back to school.

Drive safe, Wasatch County!
