The Heathsville Farmers Market is Saturday, July 16th and our theme is KIDS DAY!
There will be special games and activities, all for the "young-uns". The Woodworkers Guild will have a table set up by the Carriage House where kids can make wooden sailboats. In the Transportation Museum Building, the Spinners & Weavers Guild will have a loom set up for weaving. There will also be puppies for petting, corn hole games, a fire truck to climb on, and face painting. All kids get a special treat at the Tavern's membership table.
Shop for local produce, meat, goat cheese, eggs, gourmet soups, nursery plants and unusual hand-crafted items. There are new vendors at every market.
There's food at our outside food concession and inside at the Tavern Restaurant. Inside the Tavern is where you'll also find our "Heritage Arts Center" gift shop. We now consign the wares of over 75 local artists and artisans. Come on in and take a look. (And we've got AC!)
Now, here's the only fly in the ointment. In its infinite wisdom, the county has chosen this week to do paving in front of the Tavern. So to get to the market, don't turn in by the post office this Saturday. Turn in between the old courthouse and that brick building that formerly housed the EVB bank before it moved across the street. Then park there, or keep going and park by the old Sheriff's Dept., or keep going and park by the new courthouse, or keep going some more and you'll finally get to our parking lot. Yes, it's the long way around.
Hope to see you there!
